When you live with chronic pain, missing out on events with family and friends and a life that is planned carefully around invisible symptoms are often part of daily life.  But so many of our clients who live with chronic pain have told us stories of finding relief from symptoms, and a more positive outlook on life with a regular floating practice. And it just so happens that research backs it up.

We first saw the dramatic effects floating had on pain when we participated in the Fibromyalgia Flotation Project. This worldwide research project happened after the results of the first study showed a promising connection.

The results of that study provided compelling evidence that flotation REST can greatly improve the lives of people with fibromyalgia by significantly decreasing their pain, muscle tension, anxiety and stress. It also significantly increased freedom of movement, energy, mood and quality of sleep.

Most of these improvements showed longer-term relief as the participants floated repeatedly. This initial study had participants float once a week for three weeks but case studies suggested that extended use of flotation REST can reduce fibromyalgia symptoms to near zero. It was decided to explore the longer-term possibilities by creating a longer study and the Fibromyalgia Flotation Project was born.

When our participation ended in the worldwide Fibromyalgia Flotation Study ended, we wanted to continue to extend the relief found in the float tanks to those living with chronic pain and the Float4Health program was born.

Float4Health is an opportunity for those living with chronic pain to explore what a regular floating practice can do for them. We ask each participant to commit to four deeply discounted floats over four weeks. You can purchase a 4 series of floats, good for a month at the special price of $150 which brings the cost of each float to $37.50 each.

At each float appointment there is a brief pre and post float survey to complete. At the end of your four sessions we compile the results of your surveys so you can get the big picture of how the floats have affected you. Should you wish to continue floating, you can choose to sign up for a discounted float membership!

Clinical Floatation - this website is curated and kept by the Float Clinic at LIBR (Laureate Institue for Brain Research). It is an excellent source of published peer reviewed papers on floatation therapy or REST (restricted environment stimulation therapy) as it is sometimes referred to. They also have several links to video presentations done by the researchers themselves.
